Hello!

Welcome to SKIN by Leanne Moss, some of you reading this would of known me for many many years! Others have never met me so I thought I'd write this journal to properly introduce myself and my little skin clinic.

Many years ago on a bright November remembrance morning I entered the world, the trumpets from the Salvation Army parading through Ipswich town centre greeted me, one parent wanted to call me Poppy the other Leanne, I was the baby of the family with an older sister and brother.

For as long as I could remember I wanted to be a primary school teacher but after my A Levels I had a slight wobble and ended up on a beauty therapy course at my local collage, I honestly only chose the course because a friend was already doing it and I needed to do something. As luck would have it I loved beauty therapy, it suited me perfectly, I never wanted to sit behind a desk and love to chat!

The first half of my career was spent in a busy town centre beauty salon, I was very lucky to have found an employer who put a massive amount of effort into ongoing training, we worked with some of the biggest brand names in the industry and always kept ahead with our education. I always loved the facial training especially when we started to learn about the science of skin and how the ingredients we were using within the products actually worked.

Fast forward to a husband, two small children, many cats and a mad dog called Monty...

The time had come to start working for myself, The Little Beauty Room was born in my small spare room at home, with a need to be a mummy who was always there. The first few years I offered all the classic beauty treatments you would expect, but then along came a global pandemic and all beauty salons were closed. I spent 2020 home schooling, turns out I would of made an awful teacher! We also spent this time building a beautiful wood cabin in our back garden ready for when I could reopen again, after a few false starts I was back.

I reopened and rebranded, SKIN by Leanne Moss...

I had always had a passion for skin, I loved learning about how this paper thin organ worked, how what we did to it affected it, how I could help heal it and make it it's healthiest version of itself that it could be. I had worked with a couple of well known brands with The Little Beauty Room but now the search was on to find a brand that would elevate me into a skin clinic. I had a real interest in gut health and the gut micro-biome, my mum battled Parkinson for many years and the link with the gut micro-biome and this illness always intrigued me, learning about the gut micro-biome led me to learning about the skin micro-biome and suddenly a fire was ignited in me.

I found Corneotherapy...

I stumbled upon corneotherapy and found a piece of my jigsaw, it just made sense. We repair the skin, we don't rip it off, we don't upset the barrier, we work with mother nature not against her, I could go on but feel another journal entry should be devoted to this.

I then found Dermaviduals...

Finding this unique product brand was like fitting the final piece of my jigsaw into place, we only use skin identical ingredients and have chucked out the "one size fits all" approach. Our products are prescriptive meaning that I blend your serums and creams to treat your skin and your individual skin concerns, we can work with you and your skin through every decade of your life giving you the healthiest skin you have ever had, I don't offer Instagram airbrushed skin or hope in a jar, what I do offer you is a promise to always be honest about what I can achieve. I love working with more challenging skins like acne, rosacea and pigmentation, skin isn't an overnight fix it takes time, patients and consistency, but with me guiding you we will make a difference. I work a lot with clients who want to anti-age, ageing is a privilege not granted to everyone and I can't stop it happening, however under my guidance we can enter our older years in the knowledge that our skin is the healthiest it can be.

Along side possibly the best products available in the world I also use the best piece of tech...

Dermalux is the market leader when it comes to LED Phototherapy and I happen to use their most powerful medically certified model the Tri-wave MD, the results still amaze me! For a very small garden based skin clinic offering this level of device stands me apart from the others. I started off only two years ago with their entry level device the "Flex" I could see the changes in the skin and it really excited me, after less than a year I upgraded to their mid range machine the "compact lite" and wow the results were fabulous, however I had my sights set on the Tri-wave MD and earlier this year I took delivery of one.

A little bit more about me...

I'm a curly haired scorpion who loves: her family, getting lost in a book, crying over a film, cooking the yummiest food, a cold glass of chardonnay, lot's of chocolate, travelling the world, musicals, parties, laughing till it hurts and pottering in my garden. I hate: spiders, choux pastry and arguments.
